My Top 2 ETFs (VGS Vs VTS) For Global Exposure
VGS vs VTS, What's Going On With Evergrande? + More!
Hi Money Pals, I hope you're all keeping well!
Recently I debated re-shuffling my core holding of VGS to a combination of VTS and VEU. After some thought, I decided against it.
In this article, I compare two of the best ETFs for global exposure on the ASX (VGS vs VTS) and provide some rationale behind why I'm invested in one, not the other.
I’ll also touch on some other ASX listed ETFs that work well in conjunction with either VGS or VTS.

What Caught My 👀 This Week
4 individual companies within the IT sector of the S&P 500 (Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon) have a market cap of over 1.6 trillion.
That means each company has a market cap larger than the entire S&P 500 Utilities and Real Estate Sectors. (Source: Fidelity)
Best Investing Books 📚
Warren Buffett is an avid reader. In fact, he's famous for reading up to 5-6 hours per day. Buffett aligns the benefits of accumulating knowledge with the compound interest effect, it builds up over time.
With that idea in mind, I decided to put together a list of the best books on investing, business, psychology or a combination of all three recommended by yours truly, and my guests on The Inside Word.
P.S. I interviewed a really interesting guest last week who provided some awesome book recommendations. Can't wait to share them with ya'll!

How A Chinese Property Developer Is Shaking Up Markets
If you've been following the markets this week, you'll know that things have been a little shaky, metaphorically speaking of course. Literally and metaphorically if you're from Victoria.
The cause of the market volatility is a result of the uncertainly around Chinese Property Developer and the worlds most indebted company, Evergrande. Evergrande has been scrambling to raise funds to pay its many creditors, with regulators warning that its $414 billion worth of liabilities could spark broader risks to the country's, and possibly the worlds financial system if not stabilised.
As a result, the Chinese Property Developers share price has fallen roughly 83% this year and 23% over the past 5 days.
This article provides some interesting insight into how Evergrande got itself into this position. And this one discusses what the wider impacts on other economies (including Australia) could be if the Evergrande problem isn't ring-fenced around China.
How Bernie Madoff Ran A 65 Billion Dollar Ponzi Scheme For Over A Decade
Bernie Madoff, the man behind the worlds largest Ponzi scheme passed away in a North Carolina prison this year after over a decade behind bars. Madoff was handed a 150-year sentence for his $65 billion dollar scheme, which investigators said defrauded as many as 37,000 people in 136 countries.
The idea behind a Ponzi scheme is based on the concept of robbing Peter to pay Paul. The flaw with a Ponzi scheme arises when access to new investors drys up. In other words, there are no more Peters to pay Paul.
This 4 part pod series produced by Wondery does an awesome job of putting the story together concisely while leaving the scale of the crime firmly intact. Highly recommend!
